Date: Thursday, 27 March 2025
Format: Virtual event (09:30 – 13:00)
Client: SiLC – Specialist in Land Condition Register Ltd
Event Type: Online Annual professional forum, celebrating 25 years of SiLC and focused on land condition practice, innovation and industry futures.

SiLC engaged to host its Annual Forum 2025 with the following objectives:

  • Mark the 25th-anniversary of SiLC and reinforce its role in advancing excellence in land condition practice.
  • Deliver an accessible, virtual event to bring together practitioners, regulators, consultants and industry stakeholders from across the land-condition/contaminated-land sector.
  • Provide a high-quality programme combining: risk communication, media engagement, emerging technologies (AI, big data), materials reuse, climate change risk, and future-facing practices in land condition.
  • Provide online networking and professional development opportunities for members and non-members, and strengthen SiLCs brand and value proposition.
  • Ensure smooth logistics, engaging content, strong speaker line-up and post-event deliverables (e.g., access to recordings or materials) for attendees.

In partnership with the SiLC Professional & Technical Panel, we (Forum Court Associates) supported the design and execution of the forum as follows:

  • Programme design & speaker briefings: We curated a three-session structure(Past, Present and future: (1) understanding how SiLC works (risk communication, media engagement), (2) hot topics in land condition (materials reuse, climate change risk assessment, panel discussion on brownfield development), (3) the future of land condition (AI, big data, PFAS remediation). We secured expert speakers, including Judith and Paul Nathanail (Land Quality Management Ltd) presenting “PDF to AGS: Alchemy or AI-chemy?” exploring AI for data extraction from borehole logs and lab certificates. t
  • Virtual event logistics & delegate experience: We managed the online platform, registration process, moderation of live sessions and interactive components (Q&A, live polling). We created branded opening and closing remarks, ensured speaker transitions, and that the virtual event retained a strong professional feel despite remote format.
  • Marketing & delegate recruitment: We crafted email campaigns, social posts and reminder workflows promoting the forum to SiLC members and wider industry contacts, emphasising the 25-year milestone and relevance of the topics.
  • Post-event follow-up: We provided delegates with access to replay content (on request) and captured feedback to inform future forums.

  • Opening remarks celebrated SiLCs 25-year journey and set the tone for the forum’s focus on innovation, excellence and the future of land condition.
  • Keynote and breakout sessions delivered deep dive content on AI, big data, PFAS remediation, materials reuse and climate-change risk in land condition practice.
  • A live panel discussion brought industry voices together to debate brownfield development challenges and opportunities for risk communication.
  • Interactive elements such as live polling, Q&A and chat facilitated delegate engagement despite the virtual format.
  • Professional branding and virtual production ensured a seamless experience: from registration to live sessions to post-event resources.
  • Strong value for sponsors through virtual branding, pre- and post-event mention, and delegate visibility.

  • The forum achieved solid attendance with a broad cross-section of the land condition community (SiLC members, consultants, regulators, and industry suppliers).
  • Delegate feedback indicated high satisfaction with the relevance of the content and the quality of speakers.
  • The virtual format proved effective in enabling wider participation without travel, and the professional execution-maintained engagement throughout.
  • SiLC reaffirmed its position at the forefront of land condition practice by centring the event on emerging technologies and future challenges.
  • Post-event materials (recordings, slides) were made available following the session for delegate benefit.
